Disney is Heading to the Middle East – Here’s What We Know! 5/7/2025
Big news from Disney this week – they’re officially building a brand-new theme park resort in Abu Dhabi! This marks Disney’s first-ever park in the Middle East, and it’s set to be their most technologically advanced project to date.
The resort will be located on Yas Island, a popular entertainment destination that already features attractions like Warner Bros. World and Ferrari World. Disney is partnering with Miral, a company based in Abu Dhabi, to bring this massive project to life. Disney will handle all the storytelling and design magic through Imagineering, while Miral takes care of development and funding.
Disney CEO Bob Iger shared that Abu Dhabi was chosen because of its growing tourism industry, strong infrastructure, and commitment to innovation. He also highlighted how excited the company is to blend Disney’s classic stories with the rich culture of the UAE.
While we don’t have an opening date just yet, this resort will include immersive lands, themed hotels, dining, shopping, and plenty of surprises. It’s a huge move for Disney and a sign that they’re looking beyond the U.S. and Asia to bring magic to new parts of the world.
