Big news for Disney fans—especially those of us who love a bit of nostalgia! Disney has officially announced that The Magic of Disney Animation is making a comeback at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’ve been around long enough to remember this original attraction, you know just how special it was. And now, it’s returning in an exciting new way.
Starting this fall, Star Wars Launch Bay will permanently close to make room for a brand-new Disney Animation experience. While it’s always sad to say goodbye to anything Star Wars-related, this shift feels like a full-circle moment for Hollywood Studios. After all, the park was once home to working animation studios where guests could watch Disney artists at work.
This new version of The Magic of Disney Animation will celebrate the artistry behind some of our favorite Disney and Pixar films. Guests will be able to explore interactive exhibits, original artwork, character maquettes, and maybe even catch a glimpse into how the animation process works. It sounds like it’ll combine the spirit of the original attraction with some modern updates, perfect for families and animation lovers alike.
No official opening date has been announced yet, but the closure of Launch Bay will begin soon to get ready for this transformation.
