Disney has officially announced that Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom will be getting a brand-new paint job starting in January 2026. This project will continue throughout the year and is part of Disney’s effort to bring back a more classic look that longtime fans remember and love.

What’s Happening?

The repainting work will begin with draining the moat around Cinderella Castle. This allows crews and equipment to safely access the structure. Disney has also shared that cranes used during the repainting process will be lowered or removed from view by noon each day, helping guests still enjoy clear views and photos of the castle later in the day.

A Return to the Classic Colors

One of the biggest changes is the return to Cinderella Castle’s original color scheme. The bright pink and royal blue colors that were added for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary will be replaced with softer shades of gray, cream, blue, and gold. These colors reflect the castle’s traditional fairytale appearance.

Over the years, fans have had mixed reactions to the pink color, so many guests are excited to see the castle return to a more timeless and classic look.

When Will It Be Done?

The repainting is expected to continue through late 2026. Disney plans to keep disruptions to a minimum while completing the project, ensuring that guests can still enjoy the Magic Kingdom while the work is underway.
