We finally took the leap and became Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members in 2024, and we couldn’t be more excited about what this means for our future vacations!

This wasn’t a decision we made overnight. We did our research, crunched the numbers, and thought long and hard about what made the most sense for our family. In the end, DVC checked all the boxes for us. Here’s why:

We Visit Disney Often Enough to Make It Worth It

While we might not go every single year, we do plan to visit at least every other year, and when you factor that in over the long term, DVC just made sense. Having vacation points we can use regularly gives us the flexibility to plan future trips without stressing over rising hotel prices.

We Love Staying Deluxe

There’s just something special about staying at a Deluxe Disney Resort—the immersive theming, incredible amenities, proximity to the parks, and of course, the extra touches of magic. It’s our preferred way to stay, and DVC allows us to book deluxe accommodations at a much better value . Extended Evening Hours Are a Big Perk

As deluxe resort guests, we love taking advantage of Extended Evening Hours—fewer crowds, shorter lines, and extra time in the parks. It’s become one of our favorite parts of staying deluxe, and it’s a perk we definitely want to keep enjoying.

Sharing the Magic With Our Grandkids

One of the biggest joys recently has been taking our grandkids to Disney World. Seeing the parks through their eyes has been an entirely new kind of magic. DVC allows us to plan future trips with them in mind—more space, more comfort, and more memories.

We Saved Big by Buying Resale

We ended up purchasing our membership through resale, and we’re thrilled we did. Compared to buying directly from Disney, we saved about 45%—a huge difference that made DVC much more affordable for us while still giving us access to the things we value most.

Discounts and Moonlight Magic Weren’t Dealbreakers

We’re already Disney Visa cardholders, so we already get discounts on dining and merchandise—meaning the DVC-exclusive discounts weren’t a big factor in our decision. As for Moonlight Magic events, we think they’re fun, but we wouldn’t plan a whole trip around them, so missing out wasn’t a dealbreaker.

We Chose Animal Kingdom Lodge as Our Home Resort

We’ve always been enchanted by the beauty and serenity of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, so making it our home resort was an easy choice. From the stunning savanna views to the rich theming and unique dining, it truly feels like a special place to come back to again and again.

Joining Disney Vacation Club feels like an investment not just in vacations, but in memories, family time, and traditions. We’re excited for the years ahead—whether it’s a big family trip or a quiet getaway, DVC is helping us make the most of the Disney magic we love so much.

If you’ve ever considered DVC or have questions about our experience, we’re always happy to share what we’ve learned along the way!
